Quattro Caffé serves up a distinct slice of Italy nestled in the heart of Costa Mesa’s Bristol Street shopping area. This small Italian restaurant is an inviting spot for those looking to settle into a cozy setting without the bustle of a large crowd. Its location makes it a convenient lunch or dinner stop for families and shoppers exploring the surrounding retail stores.

The atmosphere leans toward intimate and unpretentious, with seating arranged to accommodate groups while keeping the noise at an easy level. You won’t find a sprawling dining hall here, but the warmth in service and genuine hospitality more than fill that space. Staff members, some with genuine Italian roots, bring authentic recommendations that enhance the meal, from starters like the lightly fried calamari to more substantive plates such as Lobster Ravioli or the Wise Guy Salad topped with blackened chicken.

Quattro Caffé’s menu is diverse enough to cater to a variety of tastes and dietary needs, including halal options and several vegan-friendly dishes, which shows a thoughtful nod to the local community. Portions are generous, making it easy to share or enjoy leftovers. Whether you’re opting for a classic pizza with fresh mozzarella and pepperoni, a richly flavored Spaghetti Bolognese, or a refreshing Caesar salad, the quality and preparation feel like the driving details of the experience.

The restaurant also stands out for its attentive service—expect your server to engage with personalized suggestions and check in without crowding your table. This level of care, combined with an owner who circulates amongst diners, creates a welcoming vibe that’s less about formality and more about genuine connection.

Quattro Caffé is well-suited for midweek lunches, casual family dinners, or a relaxed weekend meal after shopping nearby. It appeals to diners who appreciate well-crafted Italian cuisine with enough variety to keep returning visitors interested. The balance of hearty, fresh dishes and personable service makes it a dependable destination for locals looking for consistency and a touch of familiarity in their dining out.

Excellent Italian fare and service, not only was our server Italian but the food was exquisite and very well priced for the amount, quality, and location! Definitely a great spot to have lunch while the family shops or if you’re visiting. The place is small but it’s very cozy and the service is exceptional. The meat carpaccio and the raviolis are especially exquisite.

Great service and amazing fresh seafood! Our waiter was super kind and recommended these amazing dishes to us. The calamari, and seafood pasta was so delicious! Kid friendly, and owner came around to ask how we were doing very personable! Definitely will be coming back here for the delicious food and great service!

Absolutely love this place, come with an appetite though. We generally just have appetizers and salad for lunch and even splitting appetizers they are huge. We had a dessert last time after checking they were small, well they weren't. The food we've had us delicious, the service is really good and although a tight space it's not too noisy. A little spendy but it's worth it, and hey, you're at south coast plaza!

Been here a few times now, and each time I really enjoyed it. Their chicken is halal and so is one steak item, but I'm forgetting which one. Food portions are pretty generous. Service is great and so is the overall vibe of the restaurant. Highly recommend!

Tried this popular place today. Well, my chicken panini, pesto sandwhich was very good. However, I had also wanted a side order of pasta and was told they did not offer. They did have "kids" portions they were not about to allow this smallish, senior lady to order; darn. (I asked as there were two girls right next to me with the perfect size pasta bowls) As it was only ate half my lunch. Food around me looked very good. This place is a tight squeeze between tables. There are so many wait staff milling around unecesarily filling up water glasses after every sip for instance. I value good service as much as the next person but this is way too much in a smallish place. May or may not return. Seemed to me ok price wise except for $18 for most desserts; okay if you want to split and both want the same thing. You can always head across the parking lot to Maggianos for all kinds of fine Italian food; this Caffe is handy though.
